Towards Better LooksRare Rewards

Towards Better LooksRare Rewards

TL;DR:

  • Listing Rewards will be discontinued at the end of the period beginning Tuesday, March 14th at 9:00 AM (UTC)
  • The first period without Listing Rewards starts on Wednesday, March 15th at 9:00 AM (UTC)
  • You can still claim your pending LOOKS rewards at any time

From day one, LooksRare’s been community-first: a protocol that thrives while its users do. We’ve been listening intently to your feedback, and we agree: the LOOKS getting distributed as Listing Rewards could be better used to bring more value to users.

What does that mean?

The market looks very different than it did when we launched Listing Rewards. We’ve since tweaked it a few times to adapt to changes in the wider space, and have contemplated overhauling it completely. At this stage, though, it makes more sense to rethink how we’re allocating those rewards.

As a result, to best benefit LOOKS holders and users, we’ll be discontinuing Listing Rewards as of Wednesday, March 15th at 9:00 AM (UTC). But don’t worry — you can claim your pending rewards whenever you want, as we prepare our all-new, sleeker rewards system that will replace Listing Rewards.

Wen? What?

Soon.

Right now, we’re pushing the Aggregator and V2 upgrade over the finish line. As soon as they’re up and running, we’ll refocus our dev resources on perfecting the new incentive system.

The core of the system — and all the fun it brings — has been in the lab for a while. Now, we just need to assemble the pieces before we can throw the switch and bring it to life.

What happens to the current Listing Rewards emissions?

The current Listing Rewards emissions are 50,000 LOOKS per day, which will be sent to a dedicated Gnosis Safe, the address for which is below:

When the new system launches, they’ll be used to seed the rewards pool.

As always, thanks for your enduring loyalty and patience. Stay tuned for some exciting new functionality in the coming weeks. 👀
